BANNER VA: OUR COMMUNITY HERITAGE

Item Description
"This writer has volunteered considerable time to make this book as interesting as possible. It is not my goal to present detailed information on the evolution of the "Mountain Empire" in which our own little community is a part. The vast knowledge that is available can be compiled into several volumes expanding over 300 years. The articles in this book are presented primarily as an introduction to that vast knowledge in hope that those who desire more will seek it". - Bill Porter This book contains articles on Lands on the Western Waters, ST Marie on the Clinch, Guesses Station, Pioneers on Little Tom's Creek, Coming of the railroad and coal industry, the community churches and schools, and a tribute to Big Tom's Creek.
