COURT RECORDS

These records extend from December 1835 through November 1847 transcribed from Floyd County Court Books 7 and 8. The geographic area covered includes all or part of current day Floyd, Johnson, Magoffin, Knott and Martin Counties, with a few boundary references to adjoining counties: Pike Letcher, Perry Breathitt, Lawrence and Morgan. Two maps of the region are included to show the new counties of Breathitt, Letcher and Johnson counties that were established from Floyd and other counties in 1839, 1842 and 1843, respectively.

Pike Co Volume III. This is a transcription of the Pike County, KY court records 1843 - 1853. It includes County Court Book B1 with a reference map and a list of persons authorized to perform matrimony. At this time Pike County included parts of Martin, Letcher and Floyd counties.
